Soap of the Month | Sizzling Summer Special |
Hey, come on in, warm yourself with a nice cup of coffee or tea and sit back and listen to what we have to offer you. Here at Buttercup Soaps, it is our goal to help you, our customer. To do this, our story first begins with our main suppliers. Who's that you say..... well, actually we keep them out back. It is our goats! We milk them ourselves, feed them, sometimes even show them the reason not to touch the hotwire (it's actually quite the amusing story, one that I tell below). Yeah, they are one of the main reasons we got into the soap making business. Let's see..... about 4 years ago we started to research how to make homemade goat's milk soaps. To be completely honest, the first recipes were nothing like what we make today. They were very crude and not nearly as moisturizing. But we've come a long way since that time, improving formulas based on the needs of the customer and what we've learned about the ingredients that we add to our products.
What products do we have..... well, I'm glad you asked that. First off, our main product has always been about our goat's milk soap. We not only make it by hand, but test it as well. You see, goat's milk was the perfect choice for a base because we have extra from our suppliers that would otherwise go to waste, but also because the pH balance falls within normal human range. (Human pH is between 4.5 and 6, goat's milk is at 5.5) We wanted to give people a choice for their skin, especially after we realized how many of the ingredients/chemicals in 'commercial' soap were not helpful or needed. (That and commercial soaps pH level is between 9 and 11, causing some skin problems.)
Other products soon followed, including an 'All Natural' line of soaps and products. We have a new Ether Balm, which has the ability to soothe irritated skin. Also a number of bath products, such as Bath Fizzies, Melts, and even Salts. Then as we started to offer more and more things, the need for a gift pack was realized and so we went ahead and created a variety of them to fit your needs. Of course about a year ago, the idea of a semi seasonal pack was wanted and so every two months we have another special pack that we offer. So please, click on any of the links below or at the top of the page and see for yourself what we have to offer.
Thank you for stopping by Buttercup Soaps.
